My wife and I reserved a tour on the Noyo rail bike route and had so much fun. Our guides were Travis and Sochi, and they were both fun, knowledgeable (if you're looking for a little bit of nature education from a crew with real passion, and first have knowledge you can't do better than these two), and personable. If anyone is wondering if the rail bike tours are worth it, my answer is if you are in the area and haven't seen much of the redwood forest yet you have to do it!

Railbikes on the Noyo is great!
We did the railbikes on the Noyo tour in early Sept 2026 and had a fabulous time. My dad had always wanted to do it and this was a perfect activity for his 70th birthday weekend!
Our guides were Xochitl ("So-Chee") and Travis and they were great. They were both incredibly knowledgeable about the skunk train and the nearby area and we learned many little tidbits about why it's called the skunk train and the nature in the area.

Super fun experience. The rail bike ride along the Noyo river is pretty low-key and relaxing because the bikes are e-bikes. It is beautiful countryside and the guides spaced out the bikes so that you and your partner have a pretty private experience. Lunch at the Noyo Ranch was also really relaxing with yummy sandwiches from a local business. The hike out of the canyon is strenuous, so make sure you’re prepared for hiking uphill for about 10 to 15 minutes. There are resting spots along the way too.
