We're thrilled to welcome The Chiggen to the Redwood Route this summer! Weekends in August and September we'll be running this historic steam engine on our line for a one-of-a-kind journey through the redwoods.
Built in 1909 by H. K. Porter, the Santa Cruz Portland Cement Co. #2, now affectionately known as "The Chiggen," served as a billboard for a fried chicken restaurant for over 30 years before rebuilding began.
Fully restored and a steaming beauty, we'll be running the #2 on Saturdays and Sundays from August 13th through September 11th. We expect these trains to sell out, so do book early if you'd like to join us aboard a historic steam engine!
